Daffodil Day

The daffodil was chosen as the symbol of hope for all affected by cancer because of its reputation as a hardy annual flower, pushing its way through the frozen earth after a long winter to herald the return of spring, new life, vitality and growth. As one of the first flowers of spring, the daffodil symbolises rebirth and new beginnings.

It was a rainy, wet, cold and a muddy day… but didn't care. It was our cross country!

I felt excited because It was our turn after the 10 year old girls. When I was running my dad said 'go Hoera' so then I went faster.

I was proud when I came 8th. I think I might try and come 3rd next year.

Yesterday we learnt about two things
Healthy Earth
Healthy you

Healthy Earth was about our rubbish making it to the sea and killing animals like Turtles, seals, birds and whale.

Healthy YOU was about seeing how much sugar is in my food. Today I looked at my lunchbox and worked out how much sugar my food has:

  • my chips has 1 grams
  • my yogurt has14.8grames
in total there is 15.8 grames of sugar in my food today!
